Duties:

Do you understand the importance of providing an inviting and comfortable experience and feel you can contribute to an award-winning team; you may be just the person we are looking for as a Team Member! Campus Dining & Shops @ The University at Buffalo is currently recruiting for a seasoned and enthusiastic Director of Catering to grow and manage our catering department. This position requires daily management of a multi-faceted catering facility that operates on a seven day-a-week, year-round food service and event planning schedule.  Director of Catering and team will organize and plan daily events, train and supervise staff, and work closely with clients/customers to arrange and follow through on all catering details and ensure all special requests are met.  Additional responsibilities include: ensuring customer satisfaction, developing event menus, billing, cultivating new business and ensuring pricing is adequate for catered events and maintains specified profit margins. 




 

Qualifications:

Incumbent must have a Bachelor's degree in hotel management, business administration, culinary arts, or a related field, and 5 years of management experience in a complex food services operation; or equivalent of 5 years high volume catering management experience. Incumbent must be able to demonstrate experience in working effectively in a service environment, subject to constantly changing priorities, have basic knowledge of current food trends, menu compilation, and culinary specifications and skill in evaluating potential products and supplies related to catering operations.
