ASSISTANT MANAGER OF GROUP SALES

Campus Dining & Shops is a multi-unit company employing over 1300 people. In addition to providing the University’s dining services, CDS also serves the UB community through management of the UB Card Office, Campus Catering, Retail and Convenience Stores, and Vending.

Campus Dining & Shops operates one of the largest and most all-inclusive self-operated food service programs in the Northeast. Our dining program provides students, faculty, and staff with an array of dining options, ranging from self- serve buffet style programs in our residential dining centers to retail dining and the finest in catering. With over 35 locations, there is always delicious food nearby at UB. From popular national brands like Tim Hortons, Moe’s Southwest Grill and Jamba Juice, to our very own Hubie’s serving great wings, Campus Dining & Shops has something for everyone.
Campus Dining & Shops has and exciting opportunity for an experienced retail manager to oversee retail sales, marketing of retail units, and group sales.
Manages and develops UB Campus Tees website. Keeps it updated, maintained, and stocked appropriately.
Maintains pricing standards and CDS policies in all units.
Oversees retail store sales and responsible for the marketing of units.
Works with retail store management on obtaining and growing departmental sales.
Works with division of Athletics with their football game day souvenir sales.
Builds group sales by working directly with University departments, and maintains proper product margins.
Works within Campus Dining units on any uniform needs.
Assists retail managers on continued development and expansion of department, specialty sales and trademark & licensing regulations.
Education and Training
Associate’s Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
3 years sales experience in a large-volume retail organization in multi-million-dollar range.
Experience in retail soft goods and clothing business, online ordering and supplying, and convenient store operations all required. Experience in a university setting preferred.
Knowledge of clothing materials.
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills required.
Ability to multi task effectively.
Good computer skills. Must have knowledge of Microsoft Excel & some knowledge of Illustrator.
Outstanding customer service skills.
Ability to work under deadlines during busy season.
Ability to lift/move 50 lbs.
Good visual acuity for reading reports, computer work, etc.
